The biggest upset of the college football season scored a huge increase in ratings last week.
Last Saturday?s Texas A&M/Alabama college football game drew a 6.1 final rating on CBS ? up 135% from Auburn/Georgia last year (2.6), and up 22% from Georgia/Auburn in 2010 (5.0).
The 6.1 rating is the second-highest of the season for college football on any network, trailing only Alabama/Louisiana State on CBS the previous week (6.8).
Excluding conference championship games, the 6.1 is the best for a Saturday afternoon college football game since Michigan/Ohio State on ABC in 2006 (13.0).
In the first game of last week?s doubleheader, Arkansas/South Carolina drew a 1.8 final rating ? up a tick from Florida/South Carolina last year (1.7), and even with Mississippi/Tennessee in 2010 (1.8).
